Quid rides
Creator
Wright, John W. 1931-
Description
Compiled by John W. Wright. 'Quid rides' commemorates a double bicentenial [sic] for the vindications that were published in 1792, for women and for brutes, respectively, by Mary Wollstonecraft and (allegedly) Thomas Taylor. -- Artist's typewritten description. Includes reproductions of the t.p.'s of Wollstonecraft's and Taylor's works and of various passages of these works, encased in a transparent blue report binder. Includes illustrations from William Blake's Visions of the daughters of Albion and his Marriage of heaven and hell. The tinted illuminations on view here are made by us@michblakestudenteachingroup using prisma*color on the undersides of photocopied leaves of UV Ultra II paper, in double emulation of the 18th century arts of 'back painting' and 'transparent prints'. -- Artist's typewritten description.
