After Kerouac, and in the style of a "typical American family vacation," Tiravanija and five Thai students from Chiang Mai University took to the road in a vintage motor home for a month-long drive from Los Angeles to Philadelphia. Continuing his investigation into the cultural dialogues between the East and the West, Tiravanija conceived this trip for his 1998 project at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This publication was created to give the background for preparations made for the trip, comprised of three passport-styled booklets showing photographs, maps, and texts, and housing a CD-ROM of the website that tracked the travelers&rsquo; daily progress. The CD contains biographies of the students and Tiravanija, a journal, and includes video clips taken along the way.<br />
